So Fun

I was just looking through Etsy, looking for some colorful happy things to brighten my day after a bout of food poisoning (me and bf spent the second day of Easter comparing symptoms and pampering eachother) and came upon this lovely umbrella!

Well, i just redesigned elements of my website and am planning on devoting a bit more time promoting my blog, designs and general online presence...

so i googled some keywords to see what comes up and who is succesful in that genre...and guess what? i was in the first 6 or 8 results in vintage jewelry reworked/recycled or recomposed!
All this with not a proper technical elements on the site (you know, all that seo stuff...) and being under the radar for at least 2 years now (while concentrating on Whitebox)
So i guess, with proper devotion, things can only go better :)

The website is updated and streamlined, as i decided to go for a new online shopping format, hopefully easier to update and maintain!

You can find the 2 new Summer collections *Fly Like a Bird* and *Sweet Tooth* as well as my new venture into a clothing line, fashioned after Original vintage patterns in pure silk, embellished with lace, crochet and chiffon detailing. Also i will always have some limited one-of-a-kind pieces, revamped from original vintage jewelry.

Alison, a friend and fellow designer, was kind enough to pose for me in a few pics featuring my jewelry.

She did her own hair and I did the make up, styling and took the shots. Pretty good for a first effort I think...

My First Etsy Treasury!

These are curated lists, one compiles from all the sellers on Etsy...Usually they have a theme, a color, material, target group etc...I managed to get my first one on my first attempt! These are notoriously hard to get! But i was very systematic about it :)

A sample of each collection to be more precise, but it will give everyone a good idea of what my winter designs are about! The ROCK collection has many pieces for men or women...My first attempt on creating jewelry with a masculine edge!

Loving the Web

Well, if nothing else, it brings you closer to people you would never meet!

Today I received an email from a returning customer in India and also received a visit from another customer from Japan who is visiting Greece.

It is such a gift to be able to mingle with people from around the world, not to mention "meet"all the talented crafters and designers out there as well through forums and related websites.

Just for that, I heart the internet, despite the grief it gives me from time to time...

Helen is the creator behind hmsdesigns http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5256671 is from the U.K. and is a textile designer that dabbles in mixed media as well.

She creates greeting cards, aceos and wall art combining elements from the beach and sea, together with lovely hues and textures. I already purchased 3 cards from here today and plan to place them in a frame as a trio for my seaside place...

p.s. She also has some romantic silk heart hangings... :)
